Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) in Queensland

RLE is a cutting-edge procedure that replaces the eye’s natural lens with an artificial lens to correct refractive errors such as short-sightedness, far-sightedness, and presbyopia. This advanced treatment offers a permanent solution for clear vision at all distances.

Advantages of RLE

RLE offers several key advantages over traditional vision correction methods:

  • Permanent Results

RLE provides a long-term solution for clear vision, reducing or eliminating the need for glasses or contact lenses.

  • Corrects Multiple Vision Problems

RLE can correct short-sightedness, far-sightedness, and presbyopia in a single procedure.

  • Distance & Reading

Modern lens implants such as Extended Depth of Focus (“EDOF”) or multifocal IOLs allow good distance vision as well as varying levels of reading without glasses.

  • Prevents Risk of Cataracts

RLE stops the risk of developing cataracts in the future, as the natural lens is replaced with an artificial lens.

  • First & Last Procedure

Once the lens has been exchanged, in general no further procedures are needed to enhance the vision lifelong.
